The end of the table is the problem
Shade that runs out before the seats do
Set a normal umbrella in the middle of an eight seat table and the circle of shade stops short of the ends. The two people at the ends get the full afternoon sun. Everyone else shuffles along the bench to share.
Fifteen feet of canopy, one pole
Two canopies on a single frame open to 15 ft overall, against a 71 in table. The shade is long instead of round, so it lands on the end chairs too. The stand takes 180 lb of sand to hold that span steady.
Grey is the option that disappears against concrete, glass railings and a modern deck instead of announcing itself.
The full count, laid out
One table with an acacia slatted top and a hole through the centre, eight rattan armchairs with navy seat cushions, one twin canopy umbrella. Six chairs run along the sides and two take the ends. The grey canvas sits above black weave and warm wood, which is a quieter combination than it sounds.
Sitting under it at noon
From a seat at the table, the canopy is overhead and the sun is off the plates. The pole comes up through the middle of the table, not through a floor stand at your feet. Both halves of the canopy are open here, which is the only way this umbrella is used.
Winding it open
The crank handle sits on the pole at about waist height. A canopy this wide catches a lot of air, so being able to wind it shut in a few turns matters more than it does on a small umbrella. Close it before you leave the patio on a windy day.

Is this one umbrella or two?
One umbrella with one pole and one crank. The frame carries a canopy on each side of the pole, which is where the 15 ft overall span comes from. Both halves open and close together.
Does the umbrella base come filled?
No. The stand arrives with two empty weighted bags and you fill them yourself, up to 180 lb between them. Play sand from any hardware shop does the job. Fill them once the umbrella is standing where you want it, because 180 lb does not move easily.
Can the set stay outside through a Canadian winter?
The PE rattan and the metal frame handle cold and wet far better than natural cane, and Canadian patio guides put synthetic wicker in the leave-it-out group. The cushions and the canopy are the parts that suffer. Bring the cushions in dry, fold the umbrella down and store it, and the frames can stay put under a cover.
How much can the chairs and table take?
