The hose or nothing
Outdoor cooking games stall as soon as something needs washing. Either an adult turns on the hose or the game stops.
A tap they control
The box on the back rail holds water, the tap below it opens, and the sink catches what comes out. The whole loop belongs to the child, not to you.
Fir wood holds a grey slatted counter, with soft green trim on the shelf and the back rail. A blue plastic basin drops into one end of the top, and the water box clips to the rail above it. Two painted burners sit at the other end with a rotatable knob below.
Fill it, pour it, tip it out
Water goes in the box, the tap lets it out, and the toy vegetables get a proper wash. When the water turns brown the whole basin lifts out, so it empties on the garden rather than the patio.
A hob that clicks
Two painted rings take a pan each, and the wooden knob on the apron turns with a click. It is the only moving part on the cooking side, which is exactly why children keep going back to it.
