Set of 2 Low Back Counter Stools with Timber Seats and Black Metal Legs, 24 Inch

The back is only 4 in high, which is enough to stop you sliding backwards and low enough that the stool still disappears under a counter. The seat is shaped rubber wood, 24 in from the floor on splayed black legs.

A 4 inch back on a shaped timber seat, over black legs.

Two timber seated stools with black legs pushed under a grey topped kitchen counter in a white kitchen with a red coffee machine

Almost backless

Four inches of back is a lip rather than a backrest. It catches you if you lean but it clears the counter overhang, so the pair still tucks away when nobody is sitting. That is the whole design decision here.

Twenty four inches, and 35 to 37

The recommended top is narrower than most in this range: 35 in to 37 in rather than 35 in to 39 in. At 24 in the seat leaves 11 in to 13 in under those, which is right, and above 37 in the gap gets wide.

Manufacturer drawing marking a 4 inch back height, a 13.5 inch seat depth, a 15.5 inch seat width, a 28.5 inch overall height, a 24 inch seat height, an 8 inch footrest and a 15.5 inch base, with a 330 pound weight capacity and a recommended bar height of 35 to 37 inches
Three insets showing the welded black metal frame, a tight screw connection under the timber seat and a threaded adjustable foot

Where the strength and the levelling are

A welded frame, screws into the underside of the seat and threaded feet at the bottom. Those feet are what take the wobble out on an uneven kitchen floor without anything packed under a leg.

Seat, back and rail

The seat is dished rather than flat, the back is a shaped lip and the footrest runs across the front of the frame. On a stool with this little back, the dish in the seat is doing most of the holding.

Who is this perfect for?

Small kitchens

A 4 in back still clears the overhang.

Uneven floors

Feet that wind up and down.

What we stand behind

  • The 15.5 in by 13.5 in seat, the 4 in back, the 24 in seat height, the 28.5 in overall height, the 8 in footrest, the 15.5 in base and the 330 lb capacity all come from this listing's own drawing.
  • The drawing's recommended top is 35 in to 37 in, narrower than the 35 in to 39 in most stools in this range give. Above 37 in the gap under the counter grows wider than most people like.
  • The written copy prints the seat height as 24 inches cm, which is a unit error. The drawing gives 24 in.
  • The seat is bare shaped timber with no padding, which is what makes it easy to clean and firmer than an upholstered stool.
  • Ships from our United States warehouse, free shipping over $150, and 14 day returns unused in the original packaging.

Frequently asked questions

Is a 4 inch back useful?

It stops you sliding backwards off the seat and gives you something to lean against briefly. It is not a backrest for a long meal.

What counter height suits them?

Thirty five to 37 in, which is the maker's own narrower recommendation. At 36 in a 24 in seat leaves 12 in of knee room.

Why does the description say inches cm?

The maker's copy has a unit error. The drawing gives 24 in, which is what we publish.

Do the feet adjust?

Yes. Each leg ends in a threaded pad that winds up or down to level the stool on an uneven floor.
