Wooden beds eventually give way
Boards warp, corners split
Wet soil on one side and sun on the other pulls timber out of true. After a few winters the corners open up and the soil starts walking out.
Coated steel panels instead
Ribbed steel sides bolt to reinforced corners with eight screws. There is nothing in there to swell, split or soften.
The panels are pressed with horizontal ribs that stiffen a thin sheet, finished in a dark green anti rust coating. The top lip is rolled over so there is no raw edge where you lean, and the bed is open underneath.
